About Mt. Washington, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The home rule-class city of Mount Washington is found in northeastern Bullitt County. This Kentucky community is home to about 9,200 residents, and it is one of several cities surrounding Louisville that has experienced a dramatic population rise over the last 30 years. Now a commuter town, Mount Washington is a mere 20 miles from downtown Louisville. Bullitt County Public Schools serves the area, and within the city limits there are four elementary schools, Mount Washington and Eastside Middle Schools, and Bullitt East High School.

There are several sights to see and places to visit in the Mt. Washington area. Wine connoisseurs and novices alike may enjoy a trip to the Milla Nova Winery, while couples in need of a Friday night out may prefer a quiet evening at the Keystone Cinemas. Local shopping is plentiful at Mount Washington Florist, James’ Jewel Box, Cordial Lee, and Cox’s Smokers Outlet. From a quick meal to a sit down dinner, there are also several unique restaurants in the city, including Maggie Mae’s Café, Hometown Pizza, and Donut King.

The Mt. Washington area is known for its humid subtropical climate zone. Winters here tend to be warmer and drier than other parts of the country, but proper climate controls are still a necessity. Cold temperatures with freezing overnight conditions are possible, and without the right furnace in place, indoor conditions could become dangerous. Trained HVAC technicians should also periodically service these systems to ensure they are in proper working order.

The spring and autumn months in Mt. Washington are typically warm and pleasant, although these also tend to be the wettest seasons. However, these seasons book-end a hot and humid summer in which temperatures can easily exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The high humidity levels common for the area can leave conditions feeling unbearably hot. For this reason, residents are wise to invest in an Energy Star central air conditioner to stay safe and comfortable.
